What is International Find the Good Day?

What if we shifted our focus from only identifying the problems in our communities to intentionally seeking out the good? Could we accelerate positive impact, not just in our world, but within ourselves?

In 2023, The Association of Junior Leagues International (AJLI) introduced International Find the Good Day, a global initiative dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the good in ourselves, our communities, and the world around us. This year, Find the Good Day falls on Thursday, September 18th.

For the Junior League of the Lehigh Valley (JLLVPA), this day is an opportunity to highlight the many ways we make a difference through our community impact, the advancement of women’s leadership, and the meaningful relationships we build within the League and beyond.

Find the Good Day is a call to action to seek out, amplify, and celebrate the good.

How Do We Celebrate?

Each year on Find the Good Day, Junior Leagues worldwide demonstrate the positive impacts we make in our communities. 

Two years ago, the JLLVPA rekindled our partnership with The Perfect Fit for Working Women, a part of the YWCA of Allentown. Founded in 2000 with the help of JLLVPA members, this incredible organization supports women in need by connecting them with the clothing and confidence needed to start a job and build a career.

Our first-ever Sustainer/ New Member project was completed on the inaugural Find the Good Day in 2023. Members of this dedicated project team remodeled and stocked a self-care pantry at The Perfect Fit.  Access to essential self-care items at no cost helps women facing hardship renew their sense of dignity and self-worth.  The JLLVPA celebrated a job well done with an educational tour of the YWCA, where we learned the valuable impact of our efforts with this organization.

Last year, the JLLVPA partnered with The Kindness Project to assemble and distribute Back-to-School Bedtime Bundles for foster children. The specially curated packs included pajamas, books, nightlights, and bathtoys. These simple comforts are meant to help children feel safe, secure, and stable in their new homes.

As a result of this purpose-driven project, over 200 Lehigh Valley families received Bedtime Bundles. Seeing the faces of the families receiving bundles at The Kindness Project picnic truly made us feel the spirit of Find the Good Day.

What is the Plan for 2025?

Find the Good Day 2025 is only two months away! This year’s project team is hard at work designing a meaningful initiative that will honor our legacy and look toward our bright future.
