What are the criteria for membership?
Any woman is invited to join who meets these requirements:
- You must be at least 21 years old when submitting your application (There is no maximum age to join!)
- Demonstrate an interest in being engaged in the community and leadership development
- Seek the opportunity to participate in work through the Junior League that results in meaningful and sustained community impact
- Value the mission of the Junior League
How many members do you have now? Tell me a little bit about your members.
The Junior League of the Lehigh Valley (JLLV) currently includes approximately 150 members from the Lehigh Valley area. Of those, about 50 are “active” members, and the remainder are “sustaining” members. Our members come from the greater Lehigh Valley area, including, but not limited to, Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton, Kutztown, Jim Thorpe, and Phillipsburg.
What are the dues for the JLLV?
-One-time provisional fee of $50
-Annual Membership dues* of $125
*Provisional members joining from September – February will pay a prorated rate of $62.50. Dues may be paid in installments if needed.
How do I become a member?

What is the timeline for becoming a member?
The Junior League of the Lehigh Valley accepts applications year-round through our rolling admissions program. Our Provisional Orientation Program is designed for women with busy schedules and can be completed in as few as 6 months or up to 12 months.
If I have a full-time job, can I still be a member?
YES! Many women in the JLLV hold full-time jobs and other responsibilities outside the League. You can let us know how much time you can devote to the League.

Make Lifelong Friendships
Junior League of Lehigh Valley members are a dedicated, hard-working community of women. We are doctors, business owners, marketing executives, engineers, teachers, musicians, stay-at-home moms, caregivers, fundraisers, writers, trainers, etc., from various backgrounds. But we all have a passion for volunteering which binds the members of our organization together. As a member, you will meet many interesting, talented, and intelligent women committed to making a difference in our community. In addition to the fun of volunteering, we like to have a lot of social fun too!

Receive Valuable Hands-on Training
Through committee work, educational training, and hands-on volunteering, members gain valuable skills such as grant and proposal writing, public relations, fundraising, public policy advocacy, event planning, marketing, advertising, committee management, and parliamentary procedure.

Develop Leadership Skills
Members develop core skills by serving on League committees that transfer well to their personal and professional lives. Leadership roles range from Co-Chairs, Committee Chair, to the Board of Directors. Leaders develop skills in managing teams of 3 to 30 people, strategic planning, annual planning, project management, public speaking, and ownership of programs or events from start to completion.

Belong to an International Network of Passionate Volunteers
The Junior League of the Lehigh Valley is part of something even bigger! We are a member of the Association of Junior Leagues International, Inc., an organization of over 125,000 members in 295 Leagues located in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and the United Kingdom.
Because we are a membership organization affiliated with the Association of Junior Leagues International, any member in good standing has the benefit of being able to transfer their membership to another league – a valuable benefit if you will be moving to a new city!
